A study permit allows the holder to reside in Namibia whilst studying at a Namibian institution of primary, secondary, or tertiary education. Proof of acceptance from a school or tertiary education provider, on the institution’s letterhead and signed by or on behalf of the registrar or principal, must be provided when applying for a study permit. Study permits are generally granted during a certain time of year except for students accompanying parents. In these instances, applicants can apply at the same time as their parents. The holder of a Namibian study permit may not enter any form of work. If there should be any form of work required, applicants are must obtain a separate permit for work purposes.
